The dealer reported a $$$ leak on my 2005 Honda and I wanted a second opinion. I'm glad I did. Michael's did a very thorough examination using UV dye and multiple inspections over a week's time. I am sure the dealer didn't inspect it this well. There was a leak, but a much smaller one in a different location. The cost was 10% of what the dealer would have charged to fix a leak they diagnosed in the wrong location. I was surprised to see how thorough their documentation and communication was too. I plan on keeping this great commuter car for many more years so am glad it's healthy again. Here's to hitting 200K miles in the next few months.

Tanya is an awesome representative of the company. I like that Tanya gives timely status updates/feedbacks whether it be on the phone or email. I like that the people at the service-center take the time to explain the pros & cons of what is needed or not needed, and they do it in layperson terms. Another treat is that at Michaels, they offer the customer beverages while they are waiting, and for those of us who need to work while waiting for their car, there is a conference room to use. Michaels's Auto Repair is the most honest, professional, helpful auto repair shop I have ever been to. Michael and his entire team are incredibly thorough. Michael will provide a list of things that need to be taken care of and then he'll discuss with you which items are critical, which can wait until later, and which you may not want to take care of depending on how long you plan to own your car. I really appreciated their desire to be helpful and save me money. When I told them I had a muffler/tail pipe problem they looked up the cost to replace the muffler/tail pipe and they were shocked by the price. Then they worked hard to find alternatives that would cost less. It gave me a feeling that I could trust them and that they were not there to just get my money. When I had the tail pipe replaced they only charged me for 1/4 hour of labor (no "we have an hour minimum" policy). Since it only took a short time I waited for the fix. While waiting I asked if I could take a look under my vehicle while it was up on the lift. They let me and the mechanic took the time to explain a few things that I had questions about and we looked over the engine for problems together. This all help me feel good about the service and the honesty of the shop. One last thing, there were some follow repairs that we found together. There was no pressure to fix them right then and there. Instead they offered to EMAIL me an estimate. That was great because I could look at the needed repairs and budget some time and money to get them fixed.

Service at Michael's was excellent. They were very professional and really felt like they had my best interest in mind. The problem with my vehicle could have been "fixed" in a cheap way with questionable longevity. Michael made my options very clear and didn't put any pressure on me going a certain way. Communication through out was very good. Some investigation was required. The shop kept me in the loop and stuck to their time frames.
Though I don't have enough reference to say with confidence how their pricing compares, the work was excellent and I felt like I got a fair deal. I would certainly recommend and go back to Michael's for future services.
A few weeks after the service I received a hand written Thank You letter from them. I thought that was a really nice touch.

You don't really appreciate how great Michael's is until you go somewhere else. Michaels isn't near home or work, so sometimes I get lazy and get an oil change at another shop near my office. When my headlight went out they said I needed a new igniter and ballast, over $800 - I passed on that.

So a few weeks later my car barely starts and I figure its the battery which I got at Michaels. They get me in same day to get it tested. Battery was fine but the starter was going. Michael mentions the headlight, says its likely just the igniter and gives me a quote less than half the other shop. So I get both the starter and igniter replaced and thanks to Michael skipped getting a ballast I didn't need.

Bottom line this is an honest shop, everything has been fixed right the first time, and their communication is great.

Michael, the owner, takes the time to answer my questions over email and in person. Wilma is so sweet, always offers me coffee or a ride home if it's a long wait. Just wanted to shoot you guys a quick email to say thanks again for working on my car. I took it on a long drive the past 2 days (down to Cape Kiwanda in Oregon and back) and was in and out of rain showers, which meant dirty roads, and having the windshield washer actually working made that much better. Also, some of the roads are very twisty with some almost right angle turns so that you go from 50 down to 25 in a flash. Having the brakes newly done made me feel much more secure in traveling those kinds of roads.

I called Mike because there were some spots on my garage floor. He was able to see me the same day to diagnose the problem. He found a leak in the power steering hose and also said the head gasket should be replaced. He had warned me that this type of leak might be difficult to diagnose without steam cleaning the engine. I decided to have the oil changed.

Great auto repair in Redmond! Michael, Wilma & Tessa were all wonderful to work with. My 2001 Windstar needed front & rear brakes, oil change, realign headlights & try to find an elusive problem that occurs very sporadically. Michael explained everything in detail and quoted costs I felt were fair before starting the work. I needed a rental while the van was "wheels up" and they arranged for me to be picked up and taken to the rental place at Redmond Town Center. Because of the repair cost, they picked up the rental fee. It was greatly appreciated and such a nice gesture that I don't believe happens much anymore. Kudos to everyone at Michael's.

I was in dire straights with my car that gave out on me during a visit up in Seattle. Initially, I was told by a family member that there was a plug that came out on the engine and that I would need to take it to a specialist. My boyfriend and his roommate recommended that I call Michael's. Tessa (reception) was so sweet and friendly and totally understood my concerns. She told me that she would have Michael call me back asap. Michael called within a half an hour and spoke at length with me about my vehicle and told me that they could look at it first think Monday. Needless to say, after their assessment it was determined that my van (who had been in the family for 22-23 years!) had to go the way of Old Yeller. Now, that's not to say that Michael didn't offer up options. He most certainly offered to do the plugs and repairs needed to get the vehicle functioning to get me home, but he did say that it would be a very short term thing that wouldn't get me too far. Michael ran down the repairs that the vehicle needed and said that the repairs would most likely run me 3x's what the vehicle was worth. Not a good assessment. After saying my goodbye's to my poor SuperVan, he went to a local parts broker. I will miss my van, but Michael and his staff made the goodbye a little more bearable. Thanks guys!

I brought my car to MIchael's after the battery died. It cost $200, $100 for the battery, and $100 for the labor. It was kind of expensive, but the receptionist, Tessa, was very nice and welcoming. It's rare to see a receptionist at an auto repair place. She gave me a ride to the transit center when my friend couldn't make it and also gave me some water to drink while I was waiting. The mechanic, Michael, gave me a good explanation of what he was going to do to try to figure out the problem and fix it. When my car was ready to be picked up, Tessa called again to make sure I had a way to get back to the shop. I'd definitely recommend Michael's for the honesty and the service. I originally chose this shop because it was close to where my car died, but I think I lucked out.

I've taken my car in a few times for general seasonal inspections and I just love Michael's. The staff is very friendly and they'll sit down with you to explain everything your car needs or doesn't need. They make me feel like no question is too silly which is great because I know nothing about cars. My car is getting up there in years and I think it would be easy to get overwhelmed by the amount of work it needs but Michael has broken it down into categoreis of "urgent", "wait a few months", "wait a little longer" which is awesome. By my profession, I moved five different states last six years. Evey time I moved, I always had a difficult time to find the right barber (or hair stylist), a vet (for my dog) and a trustworthy auto mechanic. I went to Michaels for an oil change on a recommend of a friend. I has been going to the Subaru dealer for years. Michaels found that my car needed services(fluids, air filter, etc...) that the dealer had claimed they performed and charged me for. I was shocked, so I went back to the dealer (& calmly said maybe they had made a mistake and could they check the things identified as not done.) The dealer got all defensive and attacking, then showed me the things (I was to find out later IN AN IMPROPER WAY). They showed me the back of the air filter saying it was clean, the transmission fluid saying it looked good..not black. Now I think ...is Michaels leading me wrong? I told Michaels I wasn't coming to them and why. They were totally professional, asked me to come in and they would double check all in front of me. They showed me the correct side of the air filter (it was dirty!) and what transmission fluid should look like (pink not brown and it was dirty!) etc... I DECIDED TO SWITCH TO MICHAELS and I AM GLAD I DID.

This shop provided me hope in an otherwise bleak situation. I've recently had to do business with Michael's Auto Repair and am very grateful how helpful everyone was at this shop. Recently my mom has had lots of car issues and she has had to go to several repair shops. Unfortunately the other repair shops were not nearly as helpful and understanding to my mom's situation. I would call the other shops (I am out state) to discuss the potential issues on behalf of my mom and they would not follow through with discussing the issues with me also, in order to give advice to my mom. Michael's Auto Repair kept me informed each step of the process and was willing to go over their diagnoses with me and welcomed my input since I have history with her vehicle. I'd highly recommend this shop to anyone looking for reliable, understanding and detail-oriented professionals. It really showed that they cared for my mother's situation.

A couple comments:
-It's funny how the mind works: $1300 in work and the thing that pleases me most is that you washed and vacuumed it. Well, that and the fact that is has a muffler now. In any case, thanks for the extras.
-The charger you installed (Schumacher SE-1-12S) looks good. It would have been a nice touch to have left a manual, though it was easy enough to find online.

I used to take my car to two different dealer shops. One didn't know how or why tires should be rotated (really!) and the second really knew how to bill! Michael's shop was always far enough away that it involved a significant amount of travel so I stayed with dealer #2. We recently moved into Redmond and well, there's only one place to go! I could always go to the "tire rotation specialists" (dealer #1) but if they are unable to rotate tires, what else can't they do? My wife and I have both had our vehicles in to Michael in the past week or so for their regular maintenance and the service was nothing short of awesome! Great work, completed on time, and not at a dealer price. My wife had asked a co-worker where to take her car for repair and guess what... they recommended Michael's! Need I say more????

I drove our “Big Blue” Chevy Suburban that you worked on this week and it was freakin’ amazin’. The artistry of the actual welding non-withstanding, for the first time in I cannot remember how long, the truck drove quiet and solid. The first time that I my oil changed there, Michael let me know that I needed to check my records for brake fluid and transmission fluid replacement. He also filled my tires and replaced my very dirty air filter! I felt he was very thorough and that he truly cared about the condition and safety of my car. I’ve been taking my car to Michael’s Auto Repair for about 3 years now and have always been very pleased with the service they have provided me.

Michael, Wilma, and staff go over and above to provide an excellent service and value to their customers. I have nothing but the highest level of trust in their capability and their pricing. Several times when I’ve taken my car in for maintenance they have gone over and the necessary service. I can usually get an appointment with them within a day and their work is completed when promised. I know that unnecessary services will not be recommended and that they will always do a thorough diagnostic of any problems my car is having.

They are always more than happy to provide transportation for me when necessary and my car is returned to me cleaner than it was when I dropped it off!

Michael’s shop is one of the cleanest and most respectful shops I have been to. They treat you with courtesy from the moment you call to make an appointment to the moment you leave with keys in hand knowing your car has been fixed properly. While waiting in the waiting area, not only do they have plenty of reading material but I was offered a variety of beverages while waiting. I had brought my laptop with me and was offered to use the conference room top do any work I needed. Its almost like being pampered when it is least expected.
